Leopoldine

Alto Adige Pinot Bianco, DOC

Intense straw yellow, fruity and multilayered, with zesty acidity, full-bodied, and a long finish.

Our Pinot Blanc grows in the vineyard of the Preyhof estate in Kaltern, at the foot of the Mendel mountain ridge. The downslope winds from the mountains bring welcome cooling after the heat of the day. The wine has a brilliant yellow appearance in the glass and reveals aromatic fruity notes of ripe apple, apricot, and a hint of lemon, rounded off with honey notes. On the palate, the Pinot Blanc LEOPOLDINE is elegant and soft with a clear, crisp acidity and plenty of minerality. The finish is long and persistent.

Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes from the historic vineyards with the oldest vines. Gentle pressing and pre-clarification by sedimentation. Fermentation under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and 20% in new French tonneaux with malolactic fermentation. After 12 months of ageing on fine lees, bottling and ageing in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months follow.
