Thirty hectares, three wine estates, a single terroir
Owned by the Counts of Kuenburg since 1851, Castel Sallegg encompasses three historical estates: The Preyhof, the Leisenhof, and the Seehof – a total of 30 hectares of vineyards. The grapes thrive at these optimal locations amidst Lake Kaltern and the rolling hills (230-550 metres above sea-level) in the village. The landscape, soil, and Mediterranean/Alpine climate imbue the wines with a superb mineral character, complexity, and freshness. The thousand-year-old castle cellar houses the wines as they mature and age to perfection. 17 Wines in three lines: the Nobilis, the Serenis, and the Imperialis.
